Xenogears' storyline > all other games. A story can't get more original. FF7 is fucking too easy...If you can beat the last boss in a single hit or two, then it isn't so great. And what I have heard the most from vets is either FF1 or FF6. Someone who played FF7 as their first FF is not really considered a vet. FF1 was my first FF. And a lot of people gave up on FF8 before replaying the game a second try. The story is more complex than it seems at first look... And Omega weapon > Emerald Weapon. I killed FF7's strongest enemy in two turns.

Emerald Weapon isn't FF7's strongest opponent SoE. I agree on 8, that isn't given nearly enough credit. I still don't think it can compare to the first 7 FFs though . Almost all games are too easy once you are used to them, so saying FF7 is too easy is silly. Without devoting a fairly large portion of your life, or looking in a guide, you cannot defeat the final boss in 2 hits on your first time through. Unless you just mean when Cloud Omnislashes Sephiroth. I mean Bizarro/Safer Sephiroth. FF7 was my first FF, I admit, but I have since gone back and played all the others, and enjoyed all the others. I'd consider myself a veteran of FF games. I haven't played Xenogears though, I'll have to look that one up.

Whether a game is the best or not is decided by the gamers, as I said. So when I say the game that's been voted the best countless times is the best, it IS fact. a) I never said FF7 was entirely original, I said it was the BEST. BIG difference there, learn the difference before you reply next time. b) Define a cliched villain. In my opinion, Sephiroth is a great character. c) Like I said, FF7 doesn't have to be original. Its materia system is perfect, and as that is the centre of the gameplay it follows that the gameplay is perfect/near perfect. The story, whether parts of it are 'borrowed', is gripping, and really makes you care about the characters. And just because a main character was killed in another FF game (remember to mark for spoilers next time ), that doesn't stop it from being a great twist in FF7. once again you fail, it is a fact that it is the internet users FAVOURITE game, not the best game. The best game is not decided by the gamers, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE BEST GAME. For example, Led Zeppelin, I find them to be utter boring crap except for one song yet they win lots of internet polls, doesn't make them the best. When Aeris was going to use the white materia I knew something was going to happen to her since it wasn't even past disc 1. The materia system (Like most RPG systems) is flawed, you have the option of making your character godlike, which makes the game too easy, although it may be an option it is still a flaw. Well let me see, Sephiroth wants to become a god and destroy the world because, I like Sephiroth too but he is pretty cliche. A cliche game can never be the best game, to be the best game (if there was such a thing) it would have to be totally original.

2 sides to this: hmm some people dont like FF7 cos "ooh its popular and overhyped" - fine by me although some people honestly just hate it for being popular hmm some people love FF7 - it is popular yes but it is also has lots of stuff wrong with it and it did have lots of commercial backing - not that im saying its a bad thing Internet People suck - so dont listen to anyone but yourself so called veteran rpgamers (myself humbly included) dont give 2 shits about people mindless blabbing on about which game is best. They make up their own mind. its like music taste, people opinions are different...now deal with it some people play FF7 sometimes whoop de doo they're fanboys. Remember though there are plenty of fanboys who praise Xenogears 1337n3ss over ff7 all the time and they're just as bad OPINION > ALL SO ALL OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP AND STOP PISSING ME OFF IN MY OWN GODDAMN TOPIC playing: Solitaire oh yeh!

Just get in the battle with only one char alive and he's done for. And I didn't had any way to reach internet at that time, all the strategies I have, I got them by myself. And if someone couldn't get a gold chocobo without a guide, then they should start reading, there's a chocobo sage in the snowy region who tells you everything about Chocobos... But I did miss some items until much later, when I went on internet and learned of the existence of Added Attack! And I did meant Safer Sephiroth...use KOTR twice and he's dead, pretty lame...last boss should be stronger agaisnt those types of attacks. Look at FF8 or FF9, there is simply no ways to defeat the last boss that fast! And Xenogears was never released in UK.

my PS2's chipped remember, so I can import it from Yankland And SoE, Safer Sephiroth when you're Level 98 or higher is MUCH harder. Or so I've heard, I've not bothered to do it yet. That's what I'm trying at the moment :/.
