And english did not steal words to french, they just absorbed them from the time when their autority was french. This is why most english words have synonymes...one is the old english term and the other is the one with french origins. The most noticable french words are for everything that concerns politics or things that were, at the time, mainly for the rich. Since the french were the one with power so the money. |

saying a certain word is better than another is stupid, but, inspite of that, I want to say that arse > ass. An ass is a form of mule, and for some reason you (The US) decided to make it the word for bottom. It's more logical for it to have another word.
