[Javelina aka Wu Tugu]

Used to play soccer in high school and college. Baseball and football in high school too.

Lately I just run or hike twice a week and then lift weights twice a week. Like Doof said, can't play a team sport without friends! Actually, I could go join some senior league soccer club. But they are always full of people playing politics and they all have big egos. I tried it once and it seemed like more of a clique than a team.

I did coach my daughter's soccer team last year. I guess I can do that again! 5 year olds have such loooooonggggg attention spans

Here is how you coach a goalie in 5 year old soccer....

"Spencer , you have to stay in the middle of the goal. Watch the ball.... Spencer, the ball! They could kick it at you at any time, not the grass, the ball! Pick it up, pick it up, you can use your hands when you are goalie. No! Noooo! don't walk into the net with the ball, eeek! "

"Oh well, throw the ball to the ref, they get a score for that..........Spencer, the ref, the REF, no don't kick it, just give it to the ref......oh brother......."

You don't fcous on weight lifting in wrestling. You do a lot of running in wrestling. I doubt you even wrestle so you wouldn't know. PLus many people say wrestling is tougher then football.

reminds me of an argument I was having with a guy. He was saying that martial arts were not a sport...He later said "A sport is a competition between two teams" so I said "So sports like badminton where you play alone and not by team are not sports?" and he said "...or player" and I answered "then what is a battle if not a competition between two opposant?" and he answered "I don't know but not a sport!"



And I have to agree with Jav, I worked in a camp last year and the kids were like....uh...kids...After one score into his own net, the other pass the ball to his friend...who is in the other team.

Football practice = 3 hours of sweating your ass off. We once were being worked so hard during the cold that the inside of the throat got so cold, I couldn't breathe. Then again, I'm out of shape

You are right, I don't wrestle. I try not to be immature, but the thought of grabbing other guys just doesn't suit me.

But when you do actually wrestle, you are only up there for a few minutes. As in football (I think I am talking about as you all would call soccer) you could be running around out there for an hour... and still no score.
