An imposing man, over 6 feet in height and cloaked in white, slowly walks towards the gates of Jiang Xia. Pulling back the hood of his cloak, he reveals a wizened face, with cold blue eyes and a long white beard. Staring one of the guards in the face, he talks in slow, gravelly tones.
Zhang Zheng: I wish to speak to your Lord, on behalf of the Great Ding Feng.

After allowing himself to be disarmed of his weapons (all none of them), Zhang Zheng is led to the audience hall, where he sees the ruler Zhang Fei indulging himself with some grapes. A weak smile forming across the man's face, Zhang Zheng speaks out to Zhang Fei.
Zhang Zheng: Ah, Zhang Fei, many have heard of your exploits. You may not have heard of me however as I am an intellectual man, so allow me to introduce myself. My nam is Zhang Zheng, and I am a scholar of some repute from the land of Wu. My Benevolent Lord Ding Feng has given me a message to pass on to you. The message is as follows:
"Zhang Fei, I wish I could come myself but as I write this I am preparing my army for battle, wherefore I send the great Zhang Zheng in my place. I understand the army that marches upon me is marching in your name. Is there any truth behind this, or are they imposters? I doubt it, as the direction they march from is your territory. It surprises me somewhat that you wish to wage such a pointless war, and a war which we will ultimately triumph in. The true winners however will be Wei, who will be able to pick apart whomever they want out of the two of us. If you could tell me why you chose to attack someone who had no quarrel with you, then I am sure Zhang Zheng will be able to act as I would wish based upon your response. Maybe then we could arrange some method of stopping this war, a war with no victors - besides Wei, Shu, and Wu of course. If you would be willing to swallow your pride and accept that the course of action you have taken is wrong, it will be for the good of the country. However, I will not forget this impudent attack, and I will ensure that your army is soundly defeated. I look forward to it.
Sincerely, Ding Feng.
Having finished reading out to the lord of the others Ding Feng's letter, Zhang Zhen awaits a response...
