Liu Bei's Request

Liu Bei had just defeated Jian Yong's forces in Nan Pi, and now occupied the palace there. He hadn't won the battle by much, and he started to doubt his own strength.

"Maybe I'm just not as good as before."

Liu Bei decided to try to find his flaw. He pondered over this for hours, eliminating each idea as it came up, knowing it didn't effect him. Then he thought he found it. What if it was a flaw in his moves?

Liu Bei then started to practice with his sword, and noticed his technique was off. Liu Bei decided to learn a different set another warrior has been using. He studied the reports of other generals and noticed Zhou Yu. He recent battle was not that impresive, but his moveset was one Liu Bei thought to be very good. Maybe Liu Bei could strike a deal with him. He quickly began to form a plan and a deal he could make with Zhou Yu.

Liu Bei quickly wrote out a letter to Zhou Yu and handed it to one of his messangers.

"Head through our territory and pass into the Shadow lands through Han Zhong and find Zhou Yu. Give it to him as fast as possible.

"Yes, my lord. I will travel faster than the wind."

"Here, use my horse, do not let it get stolen."

The messager took the horse and headed off as fast as it would take him. Here is what the letter stated.

Dear Zhou Yu,
Hello. This is Lord Liu Bei, ruler of the mighty lands of Wei. I have a request. It seems we are bothin need of another set of moves. I hear you are a mighty warrior who can help me. I would like to train under you and learn your moveset. In return, I will give you 100sc and I will teach you my moves as well. If you wish to agree, please send my messanger back with your response and head towards Nan Pi. You will not be attacked at all while going through my lands. Make sure to show Taishi Ci this note so he will grant you passage through Wei.

Liu Bei sat down in his palace and waited for a response.

Zhou Yu sat in his humble abode, praying to the heavens for good luck in the coming battles. As he began to lay down for sleep, he heard the sound of a horse's hooves, and began putting on his garments.

Soon a small yet braun man walked through the entrance, dressed in red.

"Lord Zhou Yu, I have been sent by Lord Liu Bei, Rule of Wei to deliver this letter of request to you."

Zhou Yu accepted the letter from the messenger and stated: "Your Ruler is a man of honorable name."

Zhou Yu read the letter, and nodded to the messenger.

"We set out tomorrow morn, at the break of dawn. Please make yourself at home."
With that Zhou Yu sent the messenger off to a guest room and layed back down to sleep.


The next day, Zhou Yu was led out of the town by the messenger, and into Wei territories. Once Zhou Yu knew the way, he told the messenger to leave him and comfort himself somehow, and that he would be fine alone.

He met only one well respected officer on his way, who he had been suspecting, Taishi Ci.

"Halt! What business do you have with the Ruler of Wei?" declared the Wei officer.

Zhou Yu humbly offered the letter to Taishi Ci, who took it in his hand and read it.

"Right this way, Lord Zhou Yu."
And with that Zhou Yu trudged to the Throne of Lord Liu Bei, Ruler of Wei.

"Greetings, Lord Zhou Yu, I am happy to see you have accepted this request." said Liu Bei in a powerful tone.

"I also ask for a favor, Lord Liu Bei, but it be only that you not pay me for our training, for I am equally grateful that you wish to teach me your techniques."


The next morning, Liu Bei and Zhou Yu were in the training grounds, having a vigorous yet pleasant training session.
