Yeah....what Jave said in the other topic, I've been thinking of that for a long time. In fact, I think I did something like that in the last few rounds in my RAD tournament.
1. Let people be anyone the want- reguardless of if it's "taken". Such as multiple people could play as Zhang He if the wanted. However, on the boards and while/if RPing, they have to choose an original name.
And/or...
2.Having multiple movesets on the fly. Such as, in the CoK4, I'm Lu Meng. But...it gets boring playing the same character with the same moveset over and over and over again. That's why, players should be able to use different "character's" for their movesets, corresponding with the character's weapon that they signed up with.
Such as, I'm Lu Meng, so I can use any other pike character to have different movesets. Or Liu bei can use Dong Zhou.
If you'd like to make it "harder" to do so, players could either pay or "learn" from the other player to acquire a certain movest.
Such as, if I'm playing as Zhao Yun and CJay is playing as Jiang Wei, and I want to play using a Jiang Wei moveset, I could:
-Pay CJay to "teach" me the ways of the Jiang
-CJay could....(*snicker*)..."teach" me for free
- We could "train" together, and each of us could then learn eachother's moves, so that we can both use two different movesets.
-Capture/kill CJay for his moves
-Do something like a "bet" or "training session" where we would play a level (or levels) to gain different skills.
There could also be neutral "masters", ones that can "teach" anyone, that excell in a certain weapon (such as Dark could know all the sword techniques, making him a Sword Master, and could teach any sword-wielder any other sword moves).
I think this could really help to liven up the current mundane procedure of having to stick with one moveset throughout the full tournament. Also help with strategy in the actual gameplay as well.
If you want, you can even have players be able to branch out, and use multiple weapons by being taught by different masters or other players. Such as Dian Wei could use a, I dunno, Blue Dragon.
