A figure loomed across a vast plain. The sun beating down, illuminating the figure in white armor. The wind blew furiously opposing, and yet the rider darted through it like a knife through butter, melting the very wind.
The Shu officer came to a halt, and with one swift motion slid off of his horse. The wind still blew, and the sky rumbled in the distance. A storm was coming, the sun's arm slowly retreated, reaching out but slowly covered up by the caliginous clouds.
His lucidity mind, impeded all sounds around him. An officer of versatile ability, he had learned calmness was a weapon of power.
Stillness
In a split second, lightning struck. A shadowy figure could be seen in the distance.
Reeve's darting eyes open and with calmness grab his incandescent spear. He held the spear in the middle with his right hand pointing the spear head downward, with the end behind his back. Slowly, he walked forward, leaving a trail from the spear head.
Finally coming to a halt. The wind picked up and blew intensely. Yet, in his mind, all was serene.

The restless air was stagnant, and almost weighted enough to fatigue any wandering soul with its humidity. Off in the distance, the settling western sun was plagued by ominous clouds fast approaching. Having surveyed the sky, it was almost obvious that an August Gale was approaching after the warm and moist days before.
Lightning illuminated the sky in the distance. The Sun's light had finally been consumed into the almost black sky approaching. An awful gale came up almost as out of no where and stirred the dead leaves of the forest floor into a graceful flight. Lu Meng turned his back to the wind and watched the leaves float on the wings of the air into the depths of the forest.
At anytime, he could come... Lu Meng had been waiting for Reeve, the new recruit and general of the Shu army, to come, so that he personally could test out his strength. What little light in the sky that had existed, was now immersed, and the only lighting was that of the brief and blinding lightning.
A quick flash lit the forest floor, and Lu Meng up ahead saw Reeve, he had predicted he would come through this path. He watched him in the faint light until he came to a halt obviously seeing him also. The wind gusted, Lu Meng's loose hair sways in the wind as he looked upon his opponent. The wind died down suddenly, and Lu Meng had time to speak, "I have been waiting for you... I wish to test your military prowess and combat skill. I give you the oppertunity to strike first."
Almost suddenly as he had spoken the wind gusted ferociously, as drops of rain began to fall. Lu Meng stood there, almost as if he was lifeless waiting for the emotion of Reeve. A thunderous explosion revealed that the storm was at full force, as the scintillation retrocedes back into the thunderhead in the sky.

Reeve was motionless. His eyes studied the rough features of his opponent in through the enshroudment of darkness. Raindrop after raindrop slid off his white armor. His very hair was deluge by the rain as water slid down his eyelids.
Reeve then walked forward and grins, "My powers cannot be compared to the adroit Lu Meng...but to be tested by you would be an honor." With that he swung his spearend from the back in a 360 degrees loop and holding the end of it with his left hand.
"Lets begin" Reeve declared. He stood in horse stance position and eyes seems to be focused at the spear point and not on his opponent. Reeve raises the spear end with his left hand. As he twirls the spearhead, in one swift motion his right foot crosses over his left and makes a jump with his left foot toward Lu Meng landing in a horse stance position. As Reeve lands he thrust forward at Lu Meng with his spear using the force from the jump and directing it all into the spearhead.

As Reeve jumped to attack, fluorescent lightning strikes, fading Reeve into black, while the white haze takes over his sight. Lu Meng then sees a glimmer of Reeve's spearhead as soon as the lightning dissolved into the dark depths of the forest. The faint glimmer caused Lu Meng, almost by reflex, to try and deflect the blow with the rod of his pike. Lu Meng thrust his pike horizontally to try and knock back Reeve's spear, but his ferocity was to great to be deflected. His spear clashed against the pike; unable to fend off the attack, after a brief second of the two weapons grinding together, the spear broke free and slid past the pike in a tremendous burst of speed.
Lu Meng then fell back and rolled to get back on his feet, as crimson blood ran down his face. The last thing he had seen was the shimmering spearhead, as it gashed into the side of his face.
Lu Meng held his pike with one hand, and with the other he wiped the gushing sanguine blood from his face. He then observed his blood stained hand, as the gash burned like the fires of hell. Lu Meng furiously threw his hand and the scarlet blood was flung to the ground, adding to the moisture already present from the rain. Rain began to pelt down increasingly as Lu Meng began for his move and spoke out to Reeve, "Much better than I had expected from you..."
With a sudden gust of wind and the air grew cold as capacious drops of rain fell down from the heavens and pummeled the unlucky forest. Behind Lu Meng a flash of lightning emitted, and a horrendous explosion broke the brief silent. A tree snapped and crashed to the ground and began to burn from the heat of the lightning.
The wind shifted as rain blew from Lu Meng's right side. He carefully watched Reeve to see if he saw any faults, but he had seen none in the strong warrior. Lu Meng threw his weapon down from his shoulder and he grasped it with his other end closer to the sharpened blade. His pike's blade reflected the scintillation of the rapidly growing fire, as the tree was being consumed with flame's wrath.
Lu Meng suddenly dashed at Reeve holding his pike straight outwards. Raindrops, which had gathered on the blade, fell to the Earth as he dashed. Upon getting within five feet of him, Lu Meng decided to do his old feint. Lu Meng brought the spear up as if he were going to slash at Reeve's shoulder, expecting that he would try and block it, Lu Meng brought the blade back quickly. Upon doing this, Lu Meng turned with his back to Reeve and thrust the blunt side of his spear hoping to send it right into the chest to disorientate his opponent. Then Lu Meng followed up and put his arms over the spear almost evening out the weight, then spun back quickly again trying to slash his opponent and take him down.

Droplets of water fell from the unmerciful cloud storms. The artic wind send chills up his spines, but yet he stayed focus on every movement of his opponent. The wind blew against his ear vehemently, almost as if creating an interlude for his opponent to gain a vantage.
Reeve switch back to a horse stance and was ready for a defensive stance with his right shoulder point forward and left back providing less of a target. In the depth of his mind he thought, 'Even by scoring the first blow, this match was far from over. Although landing a first blow on such an adept fighter, the tides can turn anytime.'
In the moments of his deep thoughts, the storm had alleviated, and still nothing occured between the two officers accept for the quietude studying of adversary.
In the midst of cessation a crack of wood could be heard, and rumbling of thunder. The wind picked up blowing dust between the two combatant. Out of the winds wall of dust came a coruscation spear head, aiming for his shoulder. Reeve having expected an attack performed one of his favored defensive stance. He move the spear end with his left hand in a circle and using his right as a lever, the spear head also moves in a circular motion attempting to block any movement and at the same time, retreats backward with his left crossing over his right, and then right falls back. He manages to defect the blow, however, Lu Meng followed up with a thrust, the circular motion allowed this to be parried as well. Finally, Lu Meng again followed with a 3rd combo, as he swung his with pure speed. Reeve was only saved from decapitation by his reflex as he swung the backend of his spear to deflect the blow. While not beheading the young officer, the blow landed a deep cut on Reeve's right shoulder. The blood emanate from the wound as the rain pummeled on it.
The younger officer lost his focus from the pain and anger arose. His mind became a cloud of blood, rain and terror. His very eyes were clouded with the thoughts in his mind. Instead of backing up, he followed though with his attack, and thrust out, just before halfway he divert the spear down and used the spear as a polevault attempted to kick Lu Meng with both his foot. Upon landing he uses the force from the jump and sends it in a centripetal force to land a an attack at Lu Meng's left shoulder and follow through with an attack from the end of his spear adding buoyancy of the stick to create an ever stronger attack.
