In Wu's capital, Xin Ye, Sun Mao enters the council furiously. His most trusted men were already waiting at the table, to discuss of the current matters.
Sun Mao: "As you all probably know, our forces are getting routed in every corner of China and we are trapped here because of the ferocious storm that rages on outside. We cannot say if this is a good or bad omen, since it is protecting us at the same time of trapping our reinforcements here."
Wu's head strategist, Zhang Nan, camly stands up and starts speaking with a calm voice.
Zhang Nan: "But you forgot something, my Lord, if the rain continues like this, our castle will be flooded and it will leave us even more vulnerable. Peasants residing downtown were already evacuated to the market place. Some of them cannot afford a night under a roof and others are acusing you, my Lord, of being the reason of those storms because of the last events. They say that you angered the Heavens."
The angry voice of Sun Mao rises up, contrasting with Zhang Nan's calm voice.
Sun Mao: "Fools! They do not understand that we are going to rule China as soon as this storm allows you to get out of our nest? Did they underestimate the power of our forces?"
Zhang Nan: "The power of your forces? Didn't you noticed that we have lost all contacts with a couple of our generals? They are surely cursing your "powerful" army in a dungeon at this very moment...that is if their head is not rooting in a basket somewhere!"
Suddenly, a cloaked man stands up, walking towards the exit, ignoring the current discussion. Just before exiting the room, his voice could be heard. He was speaking with a strong yet old voice and his words were as follow...
Man: "I already told you what you wanted to know, now pay me."
Sun Mao quickly answers with a panicking voice.
Sun Mao: "But my Lord, how can we know that what you said was right?"
Man: "Trust me, or my sword will trust you."
Just before he heads out, the man spoke again.
Man: "I will be at the usual place. Send the payments there."
Even after the man left, no one dared to be the first to speak...
